Private chatting here we come with Kudos Chat Search for Skype

With so many people asking how can they delete their Skype chat history, isn’t it time to ask what these people actually want? Private chatting?
There is a clear demand by people the world over, asking ‘how can I delete my Skype chat history?’. When you read their posts some people seem scared or even shocked that Skype by default records everything they instant message on that computer. Of course Skype offers the ability to delete it all, but frequently people are asking how can they delete just some of it. Kudos Chat Search for Skype, version 2.2, released 27th February 2012 covers these features nicely, with the ability to delete specific parts or all of your Skype chat history by deleting chat history based on a term, phrase, person, group or date.
What does this all suggest? Well it seems obvious to me. People are asking for the ability to chat privately when using Instant Messaging. All the major browsers have private browsing, so isn’t it time IM clients had it too. I mean we expect to be able to delete anything and rightly so, but even better to know you are using a program with it storing what you are doing on the local computer.
For this reason, the Kudos Chat Search for Skype team have plans to release a future version that has a Privacy Mode button that when enabled allows you to chat privately on your computer, and will prevent these chats being stored on your local computer.
Their decision to include these 2 features is based on the reasoning that between them there is nothing you can’t hide or get rid of. If you think about it, that is true. Those 2 features together would ensure complete privacy as well as control over exactly which parts of your Skype chat history you wish to eradicate as if it never existed.
Having said that there may be other considerations that the Kudos Knowledge team have not considered and they are anxious to get more feedback on the matter.
